My background as an Environmental Scientist, Biological Researcher and Teacher gives me a very different viewpoint when taking photographs and looking at the world around me.

I am a certified and working Restoration Ecologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, degreed Professor/Teacher and Photographer. I have worked in these career fields for over 40 years. I have spent countless hours researching, studying, writing environmental impact reports and teaching hundreds of students and teachers…. ‘in the field’… in nature.

As an ecologist, with this background, I see each image having an environmental message and a connected story. As an artist, I see the beauty and unusual nature of each image. I try to blend these two viewpoints with thought provoking images that help document a story; an ‘issue’. Environmental journalism with a more sensitive ‘eye’; exploring the relationship between nature, history and humans. Through these stories and images, I hope to raise awareness of environmental, conservation, historical issues.
