“EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY…”
My photographs - my photography is all about the telling of story. I am constantly looking for connections, finding the story behind the image that I see or find. Capturing the image in its ‘truest’ light is incredibly important to me……and so is the story behind it. I am there for both.
Historical significance, environmental significance, human connection- all are part of the story of the image and what that image is showing us. To be able to document that connection is why I am there. Sometimes the story drives where the image is ...sometimes I find the image by accident and then research.…sometimes the image is so extraordinary that it draws me to it, and the story follows.
I am available for documentary, environmental photography…the telling of a visual and verbal story, the documenting of the story.
I have travelled and photographed throughout the Southwestern states, the Midwest, the Caribbean. Over the past 60 years, I have worked for environmental groups and foundations and institutions. I have taught and led students on field trips to study ecological research, field projects, Environmental Impact Statements - to be involved in their environmental world. I have taught in the University, High School and Cultural Institution arena for over 40 years. That experience and perspective is what I bring to my photography.
